Workshop Stream 1: Risks of Disease Transmission by UltraSound Probes Concerns, Guidelines and Solutions
This symposium will allow you to know all the latest scientific advances in infectious risk analysis in ultrasound and will review the new national and international regulations.
Endocavitary ultrasound transducers are routinely used in gyneacology, urology, cardiology among others. Although probes are used with single use cover and usually disinfect at low level with impregnated wipes or spray, the infection risk arising from those examinations has been revealed by several studies.
Without the implementation of an efficient and seamless disinfection process between patient adapted to the level of risk, ultrasound probes remain contaminated for a significant proportion and represent a health risk.
